Telefonica Inaugurates New Business Continuity Resource Center for companies in South Florida.

Exclusive ribbon-cutting ceremony inaugurates South Florida’s First Resource Center of a kind.



MIAMI, FL – Today Telefónica’s subsidiary in the USA inaugurated its new Business Continuity Resource Center within its SAS 70 certified data center facility in Doral, Florida. The new fully-equipped state-of-the-art category 5 facility is designed to provide a secure Workgroup Recovery and Business Continuity local environment for South Florida companies who recognize the need to be prepared in the case of an emergency or natural disaster like the hurricanes impacting the area. “We are very excited about our recent expansion which affords us the opportunity to accommodate more customers with their Disaster Recovery and Business Continuity needs here. We enable our customers to focus on managing their business, while relying on our facilities to provide the peace of mind that all their in-house human and technology assets are secure,” said Pete Pizarro, CEO of Telefónica’s US Subsidiary.

The event was attended by over 100 top executives from Multinational and Enterprise clients with operations in USA , Europe, and Latin America . The select audience had the opportunity to hear expert guest keynote speaker Bryan Norcross - Storm Specialist WFOR/CBS4 - discuss preparedness issues and lessons learned, and share some interesting highlights from his newly released book “Hurricane Almanac 2006” to hit stores in July (www.hurricanealmanac.com).
